Dear Kathy

My awesome puppy can do four jumps, the ramp and tunnel and loves the agility work.  He started on his right and left turns, heeling, all the sitz, platz, stand, etc.can find the scent pads and all the while is a perfect little boy in every way...goes to the nursing home to see my Mother and the grandchildren's soccer games and has visited the Schutzhund training as an "observer" twice now.  I am leaning toward leaving him in tact.....do you have any ideas about that?  I hope to get some pictures of him doing his "working" this weekend and will send them to you.
I am eternally grateful to you'all.

Dear Kathy
Best of all....he never leaves my side.  He "helps" bring horses in and out and sits by the arena and watches everything...how doberman like. I meant to tell you that he has the NuVet tabs and has a very sleek coat.  Will keep you posted on his progress.

Dear Kathy
Thanks for your helpful email.  Just a quick update.....I took Batman to his first "Breed Handling" class last night and of course, he was perfectly behaved.  However, we were in a class with about eight pit bulls, five bull mastiffs and a Rhodesian Ridgeback!  So I thought we were probably lucky just to get out alive.  That's a lot of dog hormones in one class!
We are pursuing the antibiotics and the Mitoban dipping with Batman afterall.  He did just fine with the first dip and the whole thing is improved.  There seems to be a fair amount of opinion that it is the stress and the hormones that kick in about this age that trigger this and a number of my doberman friends do say they have had this issue and never had it reoccur.  So tonight we are off to his first obedience class....he has all of the basics but needs the socialization continued.  The UDC nationals this year are right down the road from our farm in Missouri and my friends are involved in the planning, etc.  I hope to take him and do some preliminary stuff.
Stay strong.....you know, I shouldn't be doing all the stuff I do at 70 yrs. old, but if we don't keep trying when are we going to do it!
Fondly, Jan
Updates:10/17/2008. Legard's Batman once again made us very proud.  He passed his TT test in the Doberman Pinscher Club of America National Working Dog Trial today.  The judge said he is "a very balanced dog".  His only regret is that he couldn't go out there on the field and do the protection work which is his very favorite, but he needs to spend a lot of time training now for that chance.
He now has his BH, CGC, TT and will go for his Therapy Dog certification in the next couple of weeks.  He is a very good working dog.
Fondly, Janet Smith
10/4/2008 - Dear Kathy
I hope this finds you and yours well and having a good fall. My incredible doberman just passed his BH today at 16 months old and he passed his Canine Good Citizem test earlier this summer. He still has time with his training schedule to be my best friend, take care of the grandchildren. get his "work" done with the horses every day, visit my 98 yr.old mother in the care center, go to the Plaza Art Fair, and on and on. We are going to the DPCA trial in Topeka, KS in a couple of weeks and do the TT there. He is working on the building blocks for his SCH 1 and he loves to work and play. I think of you thankfully often for bringing such a delightful dog into my life. Fondly,
Jan Smith
PS...his first love is protection work!

Dear Kathy-

We just wanted to update you on how Jedi is doing. He's doing great and
looks great - he's approximately 90lbs now. We get comments on how gorgeous
he is all the time as well as how beautifully cropped his ears are. Anyway,
we've attached a picture for you that we thought would put a smile on your
face. We entered him in a Halloween contest (winners will be announced in
November). I'll let you know if he wins!

God bless you,
Ann, Craig, & JEDI

Kathy,

Thought I'd drop a line to let you know how Jedi is doing.  He's great.
He's about 83 pounds now, and is about 28-28.5 inches tall.  He spends a
lot of time outside now that its summer, chasing balls, walking with us,
etc.  I've attached a file with two pictures to give you a feel for how he
looks now, and to show you how much fun he has every day.

(See attached file: Picture1.jpg)

We are actually considering showing him.  Since neither of us are
experienced in this, we are going to try to find more information to learn
from before we get more serious about this.  Do you have any advice?  The
one thing that we have observed, and maybe we are biased, but while at a
large local dog show in St. Paul, MN, we didn't think the Dobes were any
more impressive in appearance than Jedi.  We don't understand all of the
detailed requirements for the breed, but he is conformationally accurate in
height & weight.  Our intention is to consider this as a hobby, but not
more seriously than that at this time.  That could change if we were
successful, but to get started we are just interested in becoming more
involved with him.  If you had any references in this local area, we could
call them, also, and ask them to consult with us.

Have a great day, and God bless,

-Craig Sykora

Kathy,

Thanks for checking in with us!  We are doing great and so is Jedi.  He has
grown to be one of the best looking Dobermans I've personally seen, and
while I am biased, I think its just true.  We attended a dog show recently
(the largest held in the state of Minnesota), and of the 25 Dobermans
shown, I can honestly say I think we could have competed with any of them.
I'm not trained as a judge, but he clearly is the result of true
professional breeding, and we thank you sincerely for that.

He is a brilliant dog--he learns as fast as we can teach him, and we often
get the feeling that he understands us when we talk to him.  We've never
specifically trained him to know what "food" is, or what a "vitamin" is
(NuVet, of course), but he just knows.  He knows the difference between his
"Rotty" (a stuffed rottweiler we bought him), his "Coon" (stuffed raccoon),
his "Monkey" (stuffed monkey), his "Bunny" (guess what that one is), etc.,
but we've never specifically taught him.  A simple "Good Boy!!!" and he
learns.  WOW!!!  Our challenge really is just to keep up with him.  He's a
sponge.  A final comment on his learning--we never trained him to hold his
bladder during the day while we were gone.  We had put out training pads
for him to use, and he did use them, but at about 5 months we came home one
day and he had held his bladder all day.  We praised him for that, and he's
never needed a training pad since.  He just learned to hold it--like he
knew it was better for him and for us.

Last, I need to mention his affectionate qualities.  I've spoke with lots
of Doberman owners, and it sounds like he is no different--he truly is a
"Velcro" dog.  He loves to lean slightly against us when we are nearby, or
loves to just rest his head on our leg as we sit down.  He's not allowed to
sit on furniture based on our knowledge about dominant dog behavior
problems, but we do allow him to do rest his head on our leg (unless we are
eating dinner).  He goes everywhere with us, and loves it.  We took him on
a 10hr road trip to see Ann's family, and he was just thrilled to be along
for the ride with us (of course he was allowed to go potty when we stopped
for gas).  He's a member of our family, and our "only child".  He's a great
watch dog, and has a truly impressive bark.  At 9 months he's grown to be a
very impressive dog, and is full of muscle.  He's a teddy bear, but sure
can intimidate people who come to the door.  He melts when he sees
"grandma" and gets excited to see friends, but is very protective of the
house we live in, and we love that.  We are thinking of starting Schutzhund
this spring to see if we can get him into that as we recognize that to be a
great thing for him and for us.  We'll see where that goes.

I've included pictures.  Feel free to use any of this on your website, if
you'd like.  We can't thank you enough for such a great companion!

Dakoda -Dara Barrere

I purchased a male dobe from Kathy 5 years ago.  Prior to deciding on Legard I researched Legard Dobermans from the town level all the way up to and through state government including the Dept.. of Consumer protection, Department of Health, Dept. of Agriculture, local and area vets and even the local sheriff's office.  I did not find, nor was I given any negative feedback from all of the people that I talked to.

I also researched several name brand Doberman kennels i.e., Kimbertal, Lewellyn and a few others. We decided on Legard.  When my wife and I drove to Kathy's home to pick up our "Nico."  We spent at least 10 hours with Kathy her husband Charlie and with their sons.  We met several of their males and females.  When she brought Nico out he was absolutely perfect and as healthy as a 12 week old dobie could possibly be.  We were supposed to receive Nico via the airlines as Kathy had planned to ship him to us on September 11, 2001 - Yes on 911! How ever all of the airlines were shut down and were only allowing shipment from FAA registered air carriers.  We called petair and even petair could not give us a date.  We had to delay driving to Kathy's for about 10 days due to previous work commitments that we could not change.

We drove from Connecticut straight to Kathy's kennel. We only stopped for fuel.  We had a tremendous time with Kathy and her family.  Nico was an extremely adjusted pup.  He was extremely alert, curious and focused.  His coat was like a mirror.   He was exceptionally clean and well groomed.  We hated to say good bye to our new found friends.  We were treated like family.  Kathy refunded the air fair fees which to be honest I was not expecting and quite frankly had forgotten all about the air shipment charge that we payed.

When we left Kathy's Nico slept between the front seats of our van and never woke up until we entered Tennessee.  Nico was well adjusted to traveling and never got car sick.  When we arrived home Nico, in true Doberman form, checked out every square foot of our 3 acre property and our 3,000 sq. ft. home.  Nico was well adjusted to carpeting, laminate flooring and ceramic tile flooring.  Loud noises only peaked his interest.  Gun fire (I shoot a lot) never phased him one bit.

As part of our contract with Kathy we took Nico to our vet for a thorough check up.  Our vet remarked  what a handsome specimen Nico is.

We took Nico to a local trainer for a one on one obedience training.  This trainer raised Rotties, Sheppards and Belgium Malinoirs.  He competed in French Ring Sport and was also a certified decoy.  Our trainer remarked on what a beautiful specimen Nico is.  It is important to note that our trainer flat out told us that he was not a Doberman fan!  Nico excelled in the obedience training.

A few months later we decided to start Nico in French Ring Sport.  After a few sessions our trainer referred to Nico as a Lamborghini of Dobermans.  Nico's drive was superior and his bite work was powerful and literally left marks through the bite suit.

Nico is now 5 years and has more energy and drive than when he was a fully developed pup.  Right now we have at least 13 regulation basketballs throughout our property that Nico has punctured.  He can fit a regulation basketball in his mouth.  Nico plays extremely hard and only stops when we take him inside.  Nico is built on the exact standard that Heir Louis Doberman breed approx. two hundred years ago. Nico has a solid neck, powerful thick hind quarters and powerful legs.  He has miles of heart and stamina.

I have had Dobermans all of my adult life.  My previous dobes were extremely intelligent but Nico's intelligence is far superior.  I used to tell people that my previous dobes could understand sentences.  Now I tell the same people that Nico understands paragraphs.

Nico is as perfect a Doberman that anyone could ever dream of let a lone own.  Nico is everything that Kathy said he would be and more!  I am seriously considering purchasing a female from Kathy as it would be a travesty to not allow Nico's traits to continue.

Nico is super with children of all ages yet he will defend his home and his love ones like a mother tiger protecting her cubs.

As I type this email, Nico is at my side and occasionally he raises his head and hits my right arm as if to say just want you to know I'm with you.

I have attached a couple of pictures of Nico for your view.  The picture of Nico with our goddaughter was taken at about 16 weeks or so.  Zhou -Zhou brought Nico a Shirt as a gift.

In closing, I personally find it very difficult to believe that Kathy would sell a Doberman pup that was not in perfect health.  Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Nico's ears are perfect.  We have had dobe owners and local dobe breeders comment on his ear cropping.

I would without hesitation recommend Legard Dobermans and in fact I have to several that have contacted me.

Lastly, Nico's temperament is solid.  He has never growled or snapped at anyone.  We recently adopted a 3 year old Min Pin that we rescued from a dog pound.  We named her Bella.  Bella is a tough little girl.  She is constantly biting Nico and nipping at him constantly yet Nico tolerates her.  I could go on and on about Nico and his abilities and his intelligence.

I hope that you have a better understanding of Kathy and Legard Dobermans.  I attempted to post this message on the Leerburg site however, when I attempted to "log in" as a new member, It would not recognize my email address because it has two "underscores" "_" in it.  Could you please post this for me?  I would sincerely appreciate it.

P.S.  I named Nico "Nico" after the Steve Segal character in the movie Above the law - "NICO."  I consider Nico the Steve Segal of Dobermans.

Please feel free to email me with any specific questions that you might have.

Thanks for allowing me to access your email.

Hi Kathy,

I didn't know you had changed email addresses.  I sent some stuff a year or so ago, but it probably went into the great electronic wasteland somewhere.

Chancy is absolutely a wonderful dog.  I love him to pieces.  He has no aggression of any type, has a fan club of people and small children in my neighborhood, gets his own Christmas presents and gifts from the neighbors, and is friendly to every person and dog that he meets.  (He also has his own recliner, which he staked out when he was barely big enough to climb up into it, and even though he is full grown now and his head hangs off one arm rest and his feet off the other, that is still his favorite sleeping place.)

He loves bass fishing and camping.  I converted my oldest vehicle into an over-nighter type camper and that is where we spend the nights when camping.  It sure is nice to have him along to alert me when things are stirring around out there in the dark.

I love to hunt arrowheads, and so does he.  It took him no time at all to figure out what I was doing when I picked up funny looking rocks out in the fields.  My friends call him my "arrowhead-sniffin' dawg."  And hey, he gets lucky once in awhile.

You won't believe it, but Chancy scratched this point out from the top of a ditch.

Good luck and take care of yourself,
Glenn

Dear Kathy,

I am writing to say that we got home safely.  Patron is doing great; he slept with his head on my lap the whole ride home!!

We got home and let him run free in our fenced yard.  After he went to potty, we played with him for 20 minutes or more.  He really likes to fetch and bring it back!!  Plus he is doing his sit before I throw it for him.  Thank you for such a wonderful dog.  He is so smart and obedient.  You did a great job training him and he has already surpassed all my hopes for him!

We got him a 90 lbs. crate, which he is currently enjoying fully stretched out!  We are going to bed as well.
Again thank you for such a wonderful companion!  I will keep you updated.  Vladimir

Dear Kathy,

Glad you liked the pics.? I attached another one below.

Sure!? You can definitely use me as a reference. Post the pics and put up my contact information: Vladimir Lozan -  Patron is such an amazing puppy!? I would be glad to pass on the message to anyone.
Thank you, Vladimir

He is 5 mo. old.

Hi Kathy here are two more.
Ranger is 3 mo. old now.
This was after we took the tape off his ears.
He sure is cute.

Hi Kathy,
Robin and I wanted to send you some up to date photos of Ranger.
The first photo is when we picked up Ranger at LAX the next is him at home sleeping.
Ranger is 2 mo. old in this picture.

Kathy,

I just wanted to give you a quick update.

I just got off the phone with Kelly Marquis.  We will be meeting up with Kelly on Saturday August 12th at a dog show in Ballston Spa, for her to evaluate Ninoah.  I’m hoping she agrees to handle her and I don’t expect anything otherwise.  When she evaluated Tayla, she was the only dog that day that she agreed to handle, as long as her ears stood.

Ninoah is doing GREAT!!!   What an awesome pup.   Her ears are basically standing on their own after only a couple of tapings.  I’m going to tape them again to fine tune a slight outward bend, but they haven’t “crashed”.

She’s a quick learner……. I guess we are too, because she’s working on training us just as much as we are with her.
She plays endlessly with Tayla and Chevayo, the others sort of go about their business.   Chevayo is convinced that he’s got himself a new girlfriend.  They sleep curled up together, etc.
I need to get you some pictures……ASAP
I have to run for now.
Thanks again.

Hi Kathy,
Here are a couple of the most recent pics of Enoch. Dave and I went away to a cabin for our first anniversary and we took the pups with us.
When you get to photo, you should be able to "view without signing in".
Enoch is doing great - looking forward to his 3rd birthday. I was on your website not too long ago and saw my baby on your home page! I see you will be breeding his sister too.
He continues to be a wonderful part of our family. He's donating blood regularly and doing beautifully. Everyone stops and loves on him while we are in the waiting room!
I'll try to get some better pics of him and keep you updated.
Thanks!
Diane and Dave

Kathy-

It's been quite a long time since I've been in touch, but Edel's doing great.  She had a very hard time flying back from Germany.  We gave her vet-recommended sedatives, but they wore off before I could get her in Customs.  She was barking herself silly, as if to say "Mommy, save me!".  Once I found her, she was VERY glad to see me.

Her ever-present energy is contagious, though sometimes it's just plain exhausting!  She's such an affectionate girl, though.  She loves to lay upside down in our laps and get her belly rubbed.  She gets lots of complements from total strangers about how beautiful she is.   We were hoping to get her trained in Schutzhund and got as far as Begleithund work in Germany, but we don't have the resources here to do it.  So, as soon as it cools off, we're starting Agility work with her.  I think she'll do great...she definitely has the energy and drive to learn.

As I mentioned above, we've recently moved back to the states.  Here is our new info:
112 Lockridge St.
Mulvane, KS 67110

Can you please send us the information on how to change the contact information in her chip?

Thanks,
Bronnie Rupright
Hey Kathy, Sorry I haven't gotten in touch with you sooner. My family is still very interested in getting another wonderful companion. I definitely want a Doberman from you. Count was so very wonderful. He had the best temperament and was wonderful with my children. He was awesome. He was a part of our lives for eleven years. I think we are ready to go forward with another pet. I was wondering if you had any adults that are good with children and would make a good companion. We want only a companion. We don't want a show Doberman or a Doberman to breed. If you get one or have one in mind please let me know. Thanks, and have a merry Christmas.  Jason

Hi Kathy!
Sarah Titone here - Einstein is doing great with everything. I am looking into joining the Arizona Shutzhund club because I think Einstein would LOVE it. I've been talking to Victoria (of Vicaral Dobermans) who runs the club, and when I told her where I got Einstein, she had lots of praise for you! I attached her email below, so you can see. Of course I agree too! He was wonderfully started and has lots of energy for agility or schutzhund. I'm learing more and more about shutzhund - it is such a great sport!
Anyway, I just thought you'd like to know that you have another fan out there. (see below)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too!
-Sarah, James, and Einstein

Yes, I know who Kathy is.  Einstein should have drive if he came from Kathy.  She works very hard with her puppies beginnings.

Yes, I am Victoria of Vicaral Dobermans.  I apologize if I don't remember everyone I visit with but, sometimes it gets overwhelming.  Last summer 16 people got puppies and I have no idea how many more I visited with.

Looking forward to Thursday.  The park is on the west side of the street.  It is easy to see.  When you turn into the driveway go to the right.  I drive a white van, plates say VICARAL and Denise drives a Quest van.  I think the color might be called Champagne.  We both have Dobermans!

Hi There,

My name is Gloria from Northern California. I am gathering references from LeGard Doberman parents.
There is a possible puppy purchase from them, within the next 6 months.

How is everything with your dog?  Excellent

In your opinion, was this kennel honest and easy to work with? The Best

Did they help you with questions you may have had, anytime? Yes, we have purchased all of our dobbies from Kathy (all but the first one, it was a litter from a friend).

Was your puppy healthy and stable when arriving home?  Absolutely

If you selected a working dog, how is your dog doing now? No, companion dogs....

Was the transaction for purchase easy?  Just write the check.

Thanks you very much for your time!

I at least know we will be trying for a WAC and maybe some conformation and working titles.  I am also emailing you some new pictures from this last weekend when she was doing the WH excercises.

I have heard that some people have been trying to contact me for reference from your testimonials section of the Legard website.  Here is my updated information.  My email address is kendallsfloors@yahoo.com . And my phone # is 720-560-8145.  We are soooo happy with our little girl that I only have great things to say about you and your breeding.

Kathy, I am enclosing photos of Buzz, our Doberman that we got from you 11 years ago. We've had 5 dogs over the past 25 years (usually 2 at a time).  We have loved each of them for their different personalities, but Buzz was the most fun dog we've ever had.  We always said he walked around with a box full of hellos.  If you left a room for 30 seconds, you got a wiggle when you returned.  It wasn't just any old wiggle, he wiggled from his nose to his toes.  Our friends always said, you know I think your labrador is a really cool dog, but there is just something about Buzz - everyone who ever met him fell in love with him.  Several family members have purchased Dobermans, as a result of meeting Buzz (the stigma of the Doberman) completely dismissed after they met our funny, loving, gentle boy.  We miss him terribly, and although we are now looking at getting a new puppy from you, I know there won't ever be another Buzz.  I know I've sent too many photos for you to use on the web site, but I'll let you decide which you like best.

Please let me know if you received my application and if everything was in order.  Have any of the new litters been born yet?  We look forward to hearing from you soon, and all of our friends and family are anxious to see my boy on the web site.

Kathy, here are a couple of pictures of Gunner and the rest of the
family at our home, and at the beach at Point Reyes national park near San
Francisco.  Gunner is doing very well.  Everyone consistently comments on
his beautiful face and the quality of his ear crop.  I have had SEVERAL
other Doberman owners ask me where I got him and where his ears were done.
He is really beautiful.  I've found a technique used by a Great Dane breeder
on supporting cropped ears after the bell is strong, but the upper 1/3 of
the ear is still a bit floppy.  She uses Breathe-Right strips on the inside
portion of the ear where it "breaks".  She puts two of the strips there and
secures the with a piece of Zonas tape/surgical glue.  This method is
working very well for Gunner.  He doesn't seem to mind the strips at all and
his ears and the strips allow air into his ears.  I've tried the glue, and
it doesn't stick very well at all, so I just secure the strips with a small
piece of tape.  Here is a link:

My wife and I will eventually move to Thailand after I leave the Air
Force and I've gotten permission to have as many dogs as I want.  I will
definitely give you a call in ten years or so.  Thanks for everything,

Hello Kathy,

Calypso is doing great she is so smart and lovable even with Isabelle our 17 month old daughter. I made her a large pillow to lay on in the living room because she likes to be where we are and Isabelle goes over and lays right on top over her and Calypso just groans and lays there or starts to kick Isabelle face like ok you’re going to get this close then you get kisses. Isabelle just laughs and either gets off or takes the kisses. Calypso’s only problem and its not really a problem is that she’s terrified of big dogs. We started taking her to the dog parks every Saturday and Sundays so she gets out and plays with other dogs. Well as soon as we let her off the leash and the other dogs came runny to check out the new dog to play with she began to scream and run away like she was being attack instead of just being smelled. All the dog owners were very understanding when we explained that it was her first time and she was still pretty young only 4 months. But she has gotten a lot better since then she will play with most of the dogs and she stays close to us. As long as big dogs don’t come running at her at full speed she’s ok.

Her ears are good I don’t remember if I told you I did take your advice and went to a different vet after my vet was really rude to me and they kept telling me that her ears are cut bad and probably would never stand correctly. I love this new vet he just looked at her ears still racked and said they look good to me and when they took them down he told us that just how some vets cut the ears more of a show cut and was really surprised when I told him what the other vet had told me. He said her ears were just fine and they would stand just fine. And they are we are still racking them and I’m the one who’s been racking them for a while now because it was getting really expensive taking her in twice a week because the sticks would pop out so I went to your website and am using your friends way to rack them. Oh but yeah her ears will stand for about a day maybe two and then the tips start to bend back so we just rack them back up for another week. Geoff keeps telling me it just takes time and they will stand.

Her training is going great I’m still thinking about putting her in an obedience class through the agility group we’re involved in and I’m sure she’ll just breeze right through the basic one she already sits, down, she’s been staying on command since we got her because I do the stay when I feed her so she’s not jumping all over while I’m trying to put down her food and she comes on command as well. I’m going to start her heeling training next week its been so cold here and Isabelle has had a cold for the last month that we can’t get her over that I haven’t wanted to take her out in the mornings when it the only time we can get out with just Isabelle and Calypso. I’m just going to put Isabelle in her baby backpack and we’ll go to the park and get out and walk and do some training.

I’ve sent some pictures of Calypso the one is of Isabelle and Calypso the weekend after we got her out in our backyard playing in the dirt not sure who was dirtier. The 2nd one is of Calypso and Isabelle on the big pillow I made her they could wait until I was done so it’s the pillow with out the case. 3rd one is Calypso sporting her Thanksgiving scarf. Calypso on her big pillow sporting her Christmas scarf.

Keep in touch,

Hi there!

It's Mike and Chae from Atlanta.  We purchased Max and Roxy from you about a year and a half ago.
We're sorry we are just now getting in touch with you.

We are sooo thankful for our babies!!!! They are by far the most wonderful dogs!  People always comment on how beautiful they are... of course nothing we didn't already know. :-)
Not only you are a wonderful breeder, you definitely are passionate about Dobermans.  It shows Max and Roxy were bred with so much care and concern.

I'm attaching a picture of them for you.  THANK YOU!!!  Chae & Mike

Kathy,
Of Course you can post it on your website!  We want people to know what beautiful and quality Dobes you breed and how much they are loved!!!  Thank you again and we will definitely come back to Oakman for the next time..... hoping that day won't come for at least another 20 years... :-p  They say you're not suppose out live your children... if Mike and I had one wish that would be it!   Chae & Mike

Dear Kathy,
Just a puppy update.  I had her to the vet this morning and she checked out perfectly.  Everyone was going crazy about her, nothing but compliments.  A real tribute to you.  The only thing we had done was heartworm meds and a Lyme disease shot.  She didn't even flinch.  She was more concerned over the treats they give out.  She's now 49.4 lbs.  I don't know what she was when she arrived but she eats her ProPlan like a champ.  She spits out her NuVet (or pretends she going to eat it and then hides it) so I have to put it in a piece of bread or a piece of hotdog and then she swallows it with no problem.

I named her Rylie which she doesn't know 100% yet but she knows Come and No and I think she knew that one when she came here :-)  Did you have a name for her?  I try to work with her everyday with basic training and she seems to be a quick learner.  I may look into some obedience training when the weather cooperates if she needs it by then.  You're right about the plays with everything part, it's like having a toddler in the house again.  She's warmed up to all of my family members although my daughter hasn't come home from college yet.  In fact she's on her way to Baton Rouge on a West Virginia University school trip this morning.  It's some Landscape Architect event that LSU is sponsoring. She's all excited as they will be spending tonight in Alabama and she'll get to see Rylie's home state.  This was one of her excuses she used in order to convince me this trip was a good idea.  I had to laugh as I'm sure there is more to it that just traveling through Alabama but she said she would take lots of pictures.
Oh I forgot, the ladies at the Vet's office (including the Doctor) were impressed by her ears.  They said they were beautifully done.  They wondered where I had them done.  They said they don't crop Dobermans ears long like that anymore because they always have such a hard time getting them to stand.  So I'm really glad you took care of the ear cropping.
I can tell she's a protective dog compared to my last Dobe.  She can really growl and bark when she hears a weird noise outside.  I've seen more of a protective instinct from her in the last 2 weeks and I've ever seen in my last old girl in her entire life.
Well I had better let you go as I could go on and on.
Take care and I hope you're doing well.
Mary
update: Kathy,
Just wanted to know that I think she's adjusting well.  Last night I slept on the couch with the dog bed right in front of it.   I put your blanket on the her bed along with another "doggie" blanket.....she stood there looking around and saw another blanket on a rocking chair and then went over and snatched it and drug it over too.  I had to laugh.  She slept all night and I had to wake her up this morning so I could get ready for work.  I worked half a day and then came home to see how she was doing.  She was fine, she was watching TV (which I left on for her).   I needed to run a short errand so I took her along and she was wonderful.
She is a very sweet gentle girl, a perfect southern lady.  You are a good MOM.
Talk to you later.Mary

Hi Kathy,

I'm at my daughter's right now.  Puppy arrived safe and sound and he is PERFECT in every way.  I am very impressed your breeding and I will write to you later to tell you all about him and how wonderful he is.  He was not traumatized at all from the flight.  He is very out going and curious.  He can get rambunctious but when I pick him up he settles right down.  His confirmation is great, tail length perfect, nice big feet and prancy movement.  Thank you so much!  Judy Cook

Hi Kathy!

I hope you got the email I sent to you from my daughter's house letting you know baby boy arrived fine.  I got to the airport about 3:50 and the plane had already landed and when I asked them about him they brought him right out. The arrival time was suppose to be 4:10.  Not for one minute did he act frightened in his crate.  He started to bark and it drew everyone's attention.  I had the back seats down in my Honda Civic so I let him out of the crate to have more room. I didn't care if he had an accident, I figured he'd been in that small crate too long.  (he never did have an accident)   First he climbed up my back and around my neck.  The next thing he was in the back again sitting up (as in a trick...sit up)  looking out the window with his front paws on the back of the seat......too cute!  I had to drop some paper work off at my daughter's so we visited for a while and every one admired my beautiful, well bred puppy!  My mother can't drive anymore so I picked her up before I went to the airport just to give her something to do. It was a big happy get together!
I am very pleased with my purchase.  I can't find one thing about him I don't like. His ears look awful good (healing nicely) especially because they were just done.  This has been a very positive experience for me......thank you!  All his paper work seems to be in order and he is clean and you can tell he was well cared for.... and he's beautiful!  I will keep you updated on a regular basis and send pictures occasionally.
With Kind Regards,
Judy Cook

Hi Kathy,

Malachi (we think) had a great night.  He didn't cry all night long.... just a little the first few minutes.  We already love him and find that he is very special.  His personality couldn't be cuter!  That is very funny about what you said he almost talks because in the car ride home yesterday I picked that up and was saying it back to him  "Love you"   Ha!   I'm a big fan of Caesar Malian (sp)  I don't know if you know who he is but he has a TV program about working and training dogs.  It's not about sit, stay etc. but more about respect and leadership and the necessity of the human to be the "pack leader."
All training must be done in a "calm assertive" way.  I've already started this in very small ways with Malachi.  When I hold him in my lap I never let him get his head above mine. I will always go out the door before him and then call him to come out.  etc etc........ I will be his pack leader, the one he can lean on and trust in.
He is wonderful....... thank you! Judy Cook

Kathy,

Thank you for responding to my request so promptly, I really wasn't expecting to hear back from you for a couple of days. I am extremely excited about the opportunity to finally own a Doberman!
I have been researching Dobermans and looking at several breeders for about a year now. I have been extremely excited about you dogs since the first day I stumbled across your site!(Thank You Google!!) I have also been encouraged by your willingness to express your faith in the Lord on your site. I didn't have to see a single picture to know you were a reputable owner and lover of Dobermans. (The title "breeder" does not properly show your passion!)

Thank You and may God Bless

Hi Kathy,

Lexus went for his vet check today and passed with flying colors. My vet kept saying what a nice puppy he was and what a good purchase I had made.

He was very impressed with the quality of the puppy.  I am your biggest fan.  I know you have been breeding dobermans for many years and your expertise shows.  This puppy has the most wonderful temperament I have ever seen in a dog.  He is so patient, sweet, eager to please and just all around wonderful.
He is perfectly crate trained and potty trained.  He knows when I take him out that he is too potty.  When you get around to updating testimonials on your web site, please contact me so I can write mine.  Everything with this puppy and the purchase of him was a class act.  You really do it right and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending us such a precious little puppy.  I took so video of him and the Westie which is hilarious and when I get it downloaded I will send it to you.  I will keep you updated on his progress.
Thanks again Kathy and god bless you for sending us this awesome pup.

Kathy,
It's been a while since I've contacted you about Rylie.  She has been a delight and a joy.  Not that she doesn't have her mischievous moments like any adolescent :-) She's like you said, a Velcro dog and she's protective.  She certainly lets me know when someone different shows up at the house.  She's UPS trained though, the lady driver gives her animal crackers so she "loves" her.  Like any girl, she likes tasty treats.

She's seems very smart and it doesn't take long to learn new things. The house looks like a nursery school since she have stuffed dog toys that people have bought her that she drags around where ever she goes.  Her favorites are a stuffed trout, heron, pheasant and a mallard goose.  She even takes them with her out to the porch. She's not too SPOILED. Ha !

I did have a smaller fenced area but now I've gone with an invisible fence so she has a much larger area.  Now I can do all my gardening and yard work and she can help, or run over everything, whichever comes first :-)  She has lots of room to roam around now so all the squirrels are on high alert.

Here is a picture of her while she had stopped to check out a bird that had flown by.

I hope you are doing well and I can see from the website that you sure have been busy :-)
Take care

Recently, I was driving in the capitol heights area of Montgomery, and I spotted a beautiful doberman in a Lady's backyard, I stopped, and we spoke for awhile, she mentioned she got her dog from you. the dogs name is Brody, ring a bell? unfortunately, I got my dog from a "backyard breeder", he was very sick his first few weeks. my question is, when is he too old to have his ears done? who do you use, because Brody's ears were gorgeous. thank you for your time.

Thanks again,

Dear Kathy,

Send Kevin and I your e-mail address and we'll send you out a current picture of Riley.  It has
been years since I've updated you on him!  It amazes me that in October he will be 7 years old.

Riley still has his quirks, but he truly is the very best Doberman we have ever had.  He is so
well behaved, very sweet and he loves his family and he is also very handsome.

I hope this finds you well.  Take care and God bless you!

Kathy,

Thanks for your note!  By-the-way, "Money doesn't buy class", but it does
buy Legard Dobe's!  We sure are glad we got ours!

Interesting note today.  My youngest brother was in a car accident, but is
ok.  However, a couple of other people aren't.  Haeen and I read your note
and found it to be timely.  Glad you sent it.

Hi Kathy
Greetings from Phyllis, Jill, Milo(Charger) and Jethro.  Milo has been in California for a year now with Jill.  They are inseparable.  He runs on the levee daily, Plays with his best friend Jethro ( the thai dog) and is staying very healthy on his raw food diet.  His favorite spot is on the couch next to Jill.  He has not been to formal obedience, however he is very good with his basic, sit, down ,stay, heel, load and check the house or yard.  Jill is often asked where she purchased such a magnificant doberman.  I forgot I had changed our e-mail.  It is billeter88@msn.com
I will have Jill send pictures, she has hundreds.

God Bless
Phyllis

Hi Kathy,
Its been a long time since I have been in contact with you, as you may remember I purchased a pup (Valkyrie) from Frona's E litter back in early 2003. I am shocked and sorry to read that Frona has passed away. I am very sorry for your loss.
Valkyrie is doing well and while I may not have been able to really pursue formal protection training with him (due to a few people in the biz being biased IMHO and unexpected personal circumstances) he has grown into a very impressive and protective dog.  While definately NOT a dog for the faint of heart he is completely trustworthy around people he knows well. As for strangers...well, that is entirely another story. It takes him a while to warm up to people which is fine considering the neighborhood I live in isn't the greatest anymore. He make his presence known! He is VERY sharp and can be difficult to handle at times...I don't allow anyone else to handle him in public as he is very much on guard and ready for confrontation. He is a complete clown at home and although he never tires of playing he has matured to the point where he is generally very calm in the house.
I could walk him just about anywhere here in Vegas, day or night, and feel completely safe and I can not even begin to count the number of people who have actually pulled over to express their amazement at how beautiful he is. We get thumbs up almost everywhere we go. He is just an incredible dog and he definately has more personality than any other dobe I have encountered.

Happy Holidays to You and Yours.

Take Care,

Jen Carlisle

Hi Kathy,
We finally have a chance to send you pictures of Jayce.... since we have picked up Jayce we have moved into a house and have gotten engaged recently, and jayce has been here to witness it all!
Jayce is a hilarous and smart dog... he knows commands and will do all that he has been taught in sequence because that's the order in which he was taught. Our favorite thing to do with him is to get him to hug us. We get on our knees and tap our shoulders and he will literally give us hugs!
He knows the difference between us and our friends and strangers, and will warn us when he senses something different and new... which is something that we like in him. He is not aggressive or anything, but he will warn us when he hears something unusual or senses something that he is not use to.
Jayce loves to play with other dogs but has only found a few that have the same energy level as him, all he wants to do is play whether a friend brings a dog over or we take him to petsmart and he sees other dogs.
Jayce also loves SQUEAKY toys. He will put a squeaky toy in his mouth and just keep chomping as long as the toy will squeak back.
Jayce loves going for runs, he likes to see if he can beat us (even though he is on the leash).
Jayce has become part of our family and we look forward to finding a friend for him in the future!

Hi Kathy,

I just wanted to give you an update on Lexus.  This puppy has the most wonderful temperament of any dog I have ever had-ever!  He stands so patiently when I do his ears and nails.  He is so sweet and loving.
I am going to write a testimonial for your web site as soon as I can get a good picture of him to attach.  I am so glad I got this puppy.  My other doberman, Brita was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma of her hind leg and had to have it amputated.  I was just devastated.  She is doing well so far and on a course of immune booster treatments and accupuncture.  I get sweet kisses from Lexus almost if he knows what is going on.
He is such a wonderful addition to my dog family. We are going to start practicing stacking with the handler in another month or so then start showing as soon as he is old enough for puppy class. After he finishes I think it will be on to obedience and possibly tracking.  Thank you again for this wonderful puppy.

Hi, Kathy!
They finally opened a Petsmart store in Rapid City, so Jim and I took Jake and Reba in for their grand opening.  Talk about an attention getter!  Jake was really strutting his stuff, let me tell ya!  It was "look at me" all the way through the place, and he got plenty of attention since they were the only Dobes in there.  He stood rock solid for every pet, and even when a little boy gave him a hug.  He's a really good representative of his breed.  One kid popped a balloon.  The loud noise made Reba jump, but Jake just stood solid like a rock.  I was so proud of him!

Kathy:

It's Dean & Jackie Swihart with our 6-month old Dobe named Pace (pronounced Pa-chay)means "peace" in Romanian...kind of funny for a dobe! She's growing up quick, absolutely beautiful and well on her way to stardom!  She graduated from Puppy obedience a few months ago and we are now on our way with clicker training and advanced obedience. She's full of energy, runs like a deer and jumps like Michael Jordan...we call her "Air Dobie"...she's amazing.

Of course, besides all of that, she's spoiled rotten, has a million toys, loves to terrorize our Lab and snuggles with her as well.   She's an amazing dog and we are soooooooo glad we found you as a breeder!!  She's already been in one political parade with me and is ready to do her second parade next weekend.  I'm going to get photos of her in that parade so we can get those out into the Dobe world!

Once we get her into young adulthood, we'll be back in touch to get her a brother!   Just wanted to update you on how she's doing & how beautiful she is.

Hiya Kathy,

Thought I would touch base and let you know all is going fantastic ! ...She is soooo intelligent, and the bestest friend one could have, and as far as anyone coming in my gates? Forget it !! She doesnt allow anyone on the property unless I'm there :)  I love that .  She's learned now that the whole world isnt out to get her...and she seems to pick and choose who she likes and dislikes.  I trust her instinct .  She's so beautiful.  Thank you thank you .

Also, I was wondering if you ever have any blues available.  My ex landlord loves the blues and was asking if I could find out if you had any older adults available.  I checked your site but dont see any such.   I told him that I'd trust no one else to purchase from other than you :)

Hope to hear back from ya
  Darcey.
p.s.  I may want to purchase a friend for her too in the near future .

Kathy,
I was wondering if and when you had any up and coming litters.  My husband and I drove down from Tennessee to pick up Maya in 2005.  She has been such a joy but I believe she is ready for a playmate.  You dealt with my husband Sean Mills through the adoption but I was hoping to get some info.  We may be looking as far ahead as April.  Do you or will you have any litters?  We may even be interested in a 6 month old.  I have attached a picture of Maya giving mama some love.  Enjoy.

Thank you,
Angie Mills

Hi Kathy:

It has been almost a year since I last wrote.  I wanted you to know that I received a reference request and I am attaching it for your reading pleasure.  I also attached a recent picture of my beautiful boy Midnight (ears and all).

I cannot express in words how much we love Midnight.  He is a stunningly beautiful dog but more importantly, he is loving, kind, and loyal. He has touched the lives of so many people, other dogs, his trainer and vet. He has become a part of our family and we feel so blessed that you sent him to us.

We hope you are doing well and the reference requests keep coming.  We cherish the trusting relationship we had and hope to return the favor in bringing future business.

I would like to say that Midnight is a beautiful (now neutered) 87 pound beauty.  His color as you can see is remarkable.  We still have him on NuVet tabs and raw marrow bones two times a day ( for teeth and skin).  He LOVES my children but is definitely a momma's boy...I think he remembered you when he met me.  We are in love with him and take every opportunity to expose him to more and more people/experiences daily.

Please take care and again many thanks,
Kindest Regards,
Bonnie

I apologize for the delay in my response as I have been out of town.  I was so excited to see your email and to be given the opportunity to recommend Legards.  Our family had decided to buy a Doberman a couple of years ago as we wanted a loving, smart, family-oriented and loyal dog.  It was a tough decision as there is so much scrutiny about Dobermans being "feared breeds."

We selected Legards after we read their web page, checked with the Colorado Doberman Association and also sought references.  The responses validated that Legards was a reputable but more importantly a caring breeder.  I worked closely with Kathy for over a year online.  She was responsive, caring, reasurring (as it took some time to get the perfect match with our requests) and expert in all aspects of breeding.

Kathy was very careful to match our preferences in terms of personality traits.  We were looking for a very patient, kind, loving and family oriented Doberman.  What impressed me most was that the dog we actually bought was supposed to be one of Legards show dogs.  Kathy felt that Midnight's personality was so perfect for our family, that she was willing to sell him to us knowing we had no intention of showing him.  She wanted a loving home for him rather than the prestige of potentially becoming a champion dog.

I attached an early picture of Midnight.  He was STUNNING when we got him...almost too beautiful for words.  I attached an early testimonial for your reference.  Midnight's vet, trainer and almost everyone he has touched the lives of, think he is phenominally beautiful.  More importantly though, is his temperment.  He LOVES children, people and dogs.  We take him to the dogpark and he plays with 10-160 pound dogs.  There has NEVER been an incident that would make anyone leary of him other than just being a Doberman.  He goes to my son's daycare to be with the children (4-6 year olds) and is incredibly patient and loving.

Quite honestly, I cannot go down a street without someone commenting on his beauty and sweet temperment.  Midnight is now 87 pounds and has the most rich colors, sheer fur and BEAUTIFUL body structure.

I would HIGHLY recommend you go with Legards as we received Midnight and all the promises Kathy made about him were true.  He is the love of my family's life and I will be a return customer as well as recommend Legards to anyone who asks.

Please let me know if you would like to talk further, if you have specific questions and/or would like me to send more recent pictures.
Please know that it took eight years to decide to get a dog and even longer to find the right breed.  You CANNOT go wrong with Legards as it turned out for us to be one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Kindest Regards,
Bonne

Kathy, we picked up "Boomer" in February 2007.  He is our second puppy from your kennel.  I've attached a few photos of him.  He's kind of hard to photograph these days, because he is never still!  He has been a pleasure to have in our home, and a great addition to our family.  Our labrador was very lost when our other Doberman "Buzz" died at 11 years of age.    It took Dempsey, just a few days to decide that Boomer was a good playmate.  Thanks for the match-up.  He has turned out to be the most self-sufficient puppy we've ever had.  He loves attention and activity, but keeps himself busy when you don't have time for him.   We couldn't do without him.  Many thanks,

Bob and Karla Herrman

Dear Kathy
I am hoping this finds you and yours in good health and happy.
Batman is absolutely awesome!  He spent a couple of months in Florida this winter just being a perfect doberman and we came home for the UDC National Trial where he marched right in and passed his WAE and Adult TT and went on to win his Obedience Class and High in Trial! He was outstanding in the two days of Working Dog Seminar work and makes us all very proud.  He shows as Legard's Batman and everyone wants to know where I got such a phenomal doberman!  You did an excellent job of breeding and picking out just the right dog for me.  We are now fine tuning his work for his Schutzhund 1 which we are not rushing but working steadily. He loves to work!
Thank you again for such a wonderful dog.  He might want a little sister one of these days.
Fondly,.Jan Smith

Dear Kathy,

Greetings & Happy New Year!  Just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that Jaise is doing fabulous. She is the best puppy!  She has settled in so well and is the happiest, most well-adjusted and sweetest girl...I can't even put into words how much she means to me.

You have done a fantastic job with her, Kathy. She is a wonderful companion...she loves to please, her focus is amazing and her training sessions are a joy...she is a pleasure to work with, and she really loves her daily walks.  When I meet other owners with their dogs, they are impressed not only by what a beautiful Doberman puppy she is but also by her confidence and manners.  Many people have inquired as to where I acquired her, so you may be getting inquiries through your web site!

Many blessings and best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful 2010!
God bless,
Lori

Dear Kathy,

I can hardly believe Jaise is one year old today!  These last few months have flown by and she has been a joy since I moment I picked her up at the airport and brought her home. She's doing wonderfully. She's very healthy and happy and has a terrific disposition.  Thanks to your custom training, her in-home manners are impeccable and she is also polite when we are in the company of other dogs and in public. I will always be grateful for the wonderful start you gave her in obedience during her first six months. I have continued with her training on a regular basis since receiving her. We just finished an eight week course with the Obedience club of Daytona last week. Jaise still has a strong food drive which makes her a joy to train. We got a late start with the group obedience classes as she went into heat right at 8 months of age and I had her spayed at 10 months. We go for a brisk obedience walk for about 45 minutes every morning. Then, I try to get out of the house with her at least three or four days a week for her to experience new things just for fun; the park, the pet supermarket, or just a walk in a different neighborhood.

Kathy, again, thank you so much for my beloved Jaise. She continues to be the Dobe of my dreams. My parents absolutely adore her, too.  As you know, they are in their eighties and Jaise is always gentle and polite no matter how excited and happy she always is to see them. She's a very sweet girl and has never shown any sign of aggression or dominance. She loves to play and is a lot of fun. However, she takes the job very seriously of protecting her home, too.  She's also very sensitive, in tune with my energy, and alert to everything that is going on in and around my home. Not only is she intelligent and has a great temperament but she's very beautiful, her coat is very shiny and she's very fit from all the exercise. She still gets her NuVet vitamin every day!  Unaware that she is altered, I've had strangers ask me more than once if I am involved in conformation with her.

I will keep you updated with Jaise's future progress. We will be doing more advanced off-leash training this fall with the Obedience Club. There are no classes during the summer because it's just too hot for the dogs to work outside. (I leave to walk her every morning at dawn before it gets too hot!)  We weren't able to attend the last CGC testing, she was in heat, but I am planning for the next one although the next scheduled testing through the Obedience Club isn't 'til December.  She has all the basic obedience exercises down pat and when we're at home she does them beautifully and her focus is amazing but I need to work on keeping that focus outdoors with a lot of distractions: in class, there were four separate levels going on with a total of almost 80 dogs so, as you can imagine, it definitely was a bit overwhelming. She is still very young, though, and I am very pleased with her progress.

Jaise is a world class Doberman and she means the world to me.

I hope you and your family are all doing well.
Blessings & warmest regards,
Lori

PS  For your records, I've attached a copy of her AKC registration and also since I elected to have her spayed, I've attached a record of that, too. I know you like to keep updated on how your puppies are doing as they get older.  I've also included too many pictures!  I have so many pics of her, it's had to pick favorites, so I just started clicking on pictures to send...I'm not sure how many your email server will accept.

Hi Kathy,

Haven't heard from you in quite a while.  Hope that everything is going well.

I have attached a few pics of "Marco."  He is a brute!!  Very powerful and FAST!  Energy levels are in the stratosphere!  We are afraid that he is going to burn up on re-entry!!

He, as you can see from the pics is very thick in body structure.  He weighs about 105 - 108 pounds.  Very well developed muscular system.  I have not measured his height but a would estimate that he is at least 291/2 to 30 inches at his whithers.

He loves to be hugged!  The harder the better!  He also loves to be extremely close to you especially when you are sleeping.  He will inch his way up into my lap when I am sitting on the couch or in a lounge chair.

I definitely have to breed this boy!

Hope that you enjoy seeing his progress and pics.  He will be 2 in November so he is still a baby--Huey!!

God Bless,

Mario, Linda, Bella & Marco!

Dear Kathy,

WOW!!! I don’t know where to begin. “Pup” as I’ll call him for now….since I truly believe His name should fit his attitude and demeanor has me perplexed! I’m not sure if you knew or not but he was bumped off the first two flights due to bad air circulation, so I did not get to pick him up till almost 7:30pm. When they finally brought him out he was barking up a storm, a bowl of fresh water and food calmed him right down. The next 2-1/2 days has been bliss, he took to me like we were long lost friends. He’s always underfoot and eager to learn and please. Kathy I don’t know how you do it, not only is he perfect he fits me to a “T”! Words simply cannot convey my gratitude to you and all your hard work and Love you packed in my Lil Boy.  Please fill me in on his feeding regimen and anything you think I should know or follow.

I’ll keep you updated with picks and his progress growing up!

Humbly,

Robert Weiner

Hi Kathy,

It has been quite a while since we have been in touch.  I hope all is well with you and your family!

Capone is now over a year old and has calmed down considerably.  We ended up putting him in doggy day care while we are at work and he simply loves it.  The staff are just in love with him and thinks he’s the best dobie they have ever seen.  There are a few other pups at the day care and he has fun all day with them.  Of course the older dogs are not into all that playing… J  So, we are happy there are other younger pups there for him to play with.  We are able to watch him on their webcam.  We are also able to leave him at home alone for hours at the time with no accidents and no destruction.  We probably could leave him at home during the work day, but he likes day care—so we opt to take him.  I work from home one day per week and keeps Capone home with me.  Of course he wants to play and I take out some time to play with him during my breaks in between.  I believe the last time we wrote, we were at our wits end with the crate training.  You must have been praying for us.  J  Todd had to go overseas for a few months with the military, so I really had to put him in day care and I’m so happy that worked out.

Our family just loves him and he especially loves my (Andrea) brothers because they get down on the floor and romp around with him whenever they are in town on a visit.  He is just a joy to have and smart as whip.  One of my brothers, who lives in Virginia, has two miniature pinschers and just loves Capone.  He’s really considering getting a full sized dobie.

We look forward to hearing for you!!! Be blessed!

Hi Kathy:

Thank you so much for keeping us in mind for the next litter.  We are looking for a female red, however, we would be open to brown and possibly black.  Midnight is so important to our family and we love him so dearly.  He brings so much joy to my kids and he is a central part of our family.  His temperament and beauty is everything you promised and that is why we will always come to you when considering a Doberman.  Thank you for blessing us with such an amazing animal and I will touch base in November.

I have attached a few pictures of Midnight (some with my children Lauren and Aaron).  As you can see Midnight is well loved!!!
God Bless, Bonnie

Kathy,

I wanted to let you know that we finished Nynoah's Canadian Championship last Friday.  So now she's Am/Can Ch Legards Sweet Southern Comfort.

The photo didn't turn out that great because Nynoah refused to stand properly.  She was less than impressed with being out in the pouring rain and didn't want to cooperate.

We didn't move her up for Saturday or Sunday because our male was in for Breed.  We decided to have me handle her instead of Lisa and keep the numbers for the others in the classes.  Lisa figured since I've only been in the ring a few times that I wouldn't be too much competition.  I went in and took Winners Bitch on Saturday and Sunday - so Nynoah finished with more points than she needed.

I took her in for Breed 3 times a few weeks ago and took Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex three times, our male took Breed each day and had a couple of group placements.

Our male, Klitschko, beat the #1 and #3 ranked Dobermans in Canada on Sunday, he also ended up with a Group 2.  We show him up there here and there when we can and he's currently ranked #14 in Canada.

Nynoah may be pregnant.  We took our chances and bred her a week before this last set of shows, even though she still lacked a point to finish her Canadian Championship.  I let you know later if she is pregnant or not.

Hi there.  Its been quite some time since we've contacted you but we were looking at your website and thought that we would contact you again.  We purchased Dusty from you a number of years ago.  He is doing very well and he has fit to a T what we were looking for in a doberman. He does very well with our other two mini-pins, which he loves and protects.  He has turned into a very loving companion and we enjoy his presents everyday.  Once again, Thank You for Dusty!!!  I've attached a recent picture of Dusty with our other two, Beau and Brody.

Hi, Just wanted to let you know how she is doing.  She is doing great, she is the 6th Doby I've had and I have never had one like her.  She will do anything, she is not scaried of anything.  She is so full of herself.  My other Dobies were very lied back, she is going all the time.  She never stops, she is go, go, go.  She fell down the deck steps, got up and went running up the steps again.  I am telling you she never stops.  I was always able to tape the ears up by myself, with her I have to have help, than sometimes she has them down in a few mins., sometimes they stay up for a day or two.  She is really something else.  I just wish I had 1/4 of her enegy.  Right now she is playing with both of the Shelties.  I can not believe her go, go nature.  I have a trainer lined up for her.  He will be in back in town the middle of Feb.  He use to train the Montgomery Police dogs.  He was going to train by other dog but with his health problems when he was young I couldn't do it.  He will have his hands full with this one.  He met Brody and loved him, he said Brody was a great looking dog and is happy that Allie was gotten from the same kennel.  Well I am going to turn off the lights now and MAYBE Allie will calm down and go to sleep for a few hours.  Debbie

Hello Kathy,

Attached are pictures of my best friend, Jake. We purchased Jake from you in 2004. He is the closest thing to a perfect dog I have ever been around. He is the smartest, kindest, most obedient/trainable dog anyone who is around him has ever seen. My friends and neighbors call him “robo dog”. Of course, I will take some credit for spending a lot of quality time with him, and training time when he was young. I have owned Doberman’s all my life and it was obvious to me from day one that Jake was a special dog. I would show him a command one time and he would have it down.

Jake is 7 years old now and has had zero health problems and is still “intact”. The two different veterinarians I have taken him two over the years always comment about him being a “perfect specimen”. He was the pick of his litter when he was whelped 03/15/2004.

I have been thinking about getting another Doberman and wondered if you have any litters planned that would share Jake’s bloodlines? My perfect world would be, to have a son or daughter of Jake. Your thoughts on Breeding Jake? I live in Maryville Tennessee now (about a 3.5 hour drive to your place) and could bring Jake down for a visit someday.

Hope all is well with you and your family…

Best regards,

Kathy,
Hope all is well with you.  We thought you might like to see a recent picture of Winchester - he is a pretty boy!  (His ears are perfect - we often talk about how good they look!)  This was taken at Christmas, so Winchester was a little over a year and a half old.  He has grown even since this picture and is now over 90 pounds!   We have been working with dog trainer Aaron McDonald of McDonald K-9, and he has been helpful as he has a Doberman as well. Just wanted you to know we were taking good care of him!
Take care,
